Student Lodging has always put the safety and security of their student residents as their top priority. They are constantly making upgrades when needed, to lighting and their state of the art security system. Student Lodging has always been extremely supportive of the Millersville Borough Police Department and always works closely with them to keep their student residents and visitors as safe as possible.
Student Lodging, Inc., established in 1983, is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation and an affiliate of Millersville University. Student Lodging, Inc. provides facilities, services and activities that optimize the student experience and provides financial support, in the way of charitable contributions, for the University. Student Lodging, Inc. owns and operates various different facilities with approximately 1100 beds for students of the University.
As part of its mission, Student Lodging, Inc. provides charitable support not just to Millersville University, but also contributes cash, goods and services to organizations and entities in the surrounding community. Organizations and entities that Student Lodging, Inc. contributes to include, but is not limited to Millersville University of Pennsylvania, Penn Manor School District, Millersville Borough, Millersville Borough Police, Blue Rock Regional Fire District and Lancaster EMS.
As a non-profit corporation, Student Lodging, Inc. can be exempt from paying property taxes, but since being established in 1983, the corporation has voluntarily paid property taxes to Penn Manor School District, the County of Lancaster and is the single largest taxpayer in Millersville Borough.
On average over the last 10 years, including voluntary payments of property taxes, Student Lodging, Inc. has made annual charitable contributions of over $630,000.
