SLI maintains a strong working relationship with Millersville University (MU), however SLI is an independent entity that is not owned, operated, or managed by MU. The leases between SLI and its tenants are 12-month residential leases. Leases are not associated in any way with the teaching modality of MU and are independent of the MU calendar.
Due to the nature of our leases and facilities, SLI apartments will remain open and accessible to our tenants just like any other 12-month residential community. The COVID-19 outbreak has not rendered any apartments uninhabitable or otherwise unavailable to tenants. SLI and all of its residential complexes are open and available to tenants. Tenants are and will be permitted to stay in and/or return to their apartments. SLI has not asked or required any of its tenants to vacate their apartment as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Tenants that may be experiencing financial difficulties are encouraged to contact MU to discuss their eligibility for the CARES Relief Fund and/or the EPPIIC Student Compassion Fund. The EPPIIC Student Compassion Fund was recently created by MU in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, and is intended to provide financial assistance to eligible full time MU students.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How will Maintenance Requests be handled this Fall?

Our staff will knock on your door and then step back to maintain social distancing.
Our staff will be masked, wearing gloves, and have cleaning supplies with them so they can disinfect the area before and after performing the work.
Our employees will always have their SLI badge.
We expect that you will practice social distancing when our employees are in your unit. We ask that you please remain in another room while our maintenance staff is in your apartment. If you must be in the room with our staff, we ask that you wear a mask, if possible.

How can I terminate my lease?
Your lease is a legally binding agreement, and you must comply with the terms of that agreement. The only situations in which SLI will be willing to release you from the terms of the lease are (a) if you find a replacement tenant that is mutually acceptable to your remaining roommates and SLI; or (b) if you move back to on-campus housing.
What is a housing waiver and how can I apply for one?
Millersville University housing requires all MU students wanting to reside off campus to apply for a housing waiver. In order to live with Student Lodging, Inc. you would need an approved waiver from MU housing. You can apply for a waiver online via your MAX account (request to live off campus) or by emailing MU housing at housing@millersville.edu
